Hello, beauties!
It’s time to join Anne from Love the Here and Now for her monthly Awesome Things linkup! This is only my second time participating, but I’ve been really looking forward to it! It was so fun to reflect on the good things in my life last month, so let’s get started on 10 awesome things in my life right now (in no particular order)!
— We’re moving in a few weeks! This is both exciting and frustrating at the same time. I love unpacking, but I hate packing. My boyfriend and I are trying to stay ahead of the curve, so we’ve been packing like crazy the past few days even though we don’t officially start moving in until April 26. Last time we were in a big rush so everything was done at the last minute, so we’re trying to avoid that as much as we can this time. I cannot WAIT to be in our new apartment and get settled! So as a heads up, I may be a little MIA around here as we gear up for our big move.
— Gossip Girl is my jam. I know, I know. But I can’t help it! I recently got sucked into the world of Gossip Girl on Netflix, and there’s just no turning back for me. I’m on season three, and I’m absolutely hooked. I read all the books back when they first came out, but I don’t really remember anything about them. I made the mistake of reading an article about Gossip Girl on Buzzfeed yesterday, and I saw a ton of spoilers (including who Gossip Girl is. Omg!), but I will continue watching anyway because, well, duh. I love me some teen dramas!
— My sister will graduate high school soon! While this makes me feel super old (we’re seven years apart), I’m also so very excited for her! I’m very proud to be her big sister. Also, she came to visit me at work last night and brought me a sugar-free Red Bull, so I guess she’s a pretty okay person or whatever. And I love any excuse to post cute old pictures of us, obvi.
— My hair has actually been cooperating lately (for the most part). This is a feat, let me tell you. I have a lot of very thick hair, so I usually just let it do what it wants (which generally means look terrible, which is why my hair is up in a bun 90% of the time). But lately I’ve been doing straightening or curling my hair more, and the style actually stays all day. This is a marvel of nature, and I’m just going along with it until my hair reverts back to its natural frizzy, unmanageable state.
— My coworkers are pretty awesome. I work with some great people at both of my jobs, and I’m just really grateful for that. Each day is filled with lots of laughter and smiles, so that can pretty much always make up for an otherwise not fun day.
— Bold lip colors are the bomb. Above is me wearing Bite Beauty’s High Pigment Pencil in Quince. It’s a beautiful matte raspberry/strawberry color that is perfect for spring. I got it at Sephora a few months ago and never used it for some reason. It’s crazy pigmented, let me tell you! I’ve been trying to wear more bold lip colors lately because why not? So here was my bold (see what I did there?) foray a few days ago while wearing a cream-colored scarf. Time to bring on the bright pinks as well!
— Diet Coke. That is all.
— I’ve got bills. Okay obviously that by itself is not all that awesome, but I’ve had the song Bills by LunchMoney Lewis (how awesome is that name though?) stuck in my head basically for days. And I’m not sick of it yet! That’s a miracle. But really, this song is super catchy and it always makes me wanna dance, which is one of the most awesome things there is, so I think this qualifies for my list.
— Peach tea is just the greatest. My boyfriend loves basically any food or drink involving peach, and he got me hooked on Celestial Seasoning’s peach tea. And man oh man is it the greatest thing ever. I never used to be a big fan of tea, but in the past few months I’ve been finding more that I like, and this is definitely one of them. If you haven’t tried this yet, I highly recommend it!
— Spring is coming! This week has been in the high 30s/low 40s with a ton of wind and a dumb mix of snow and rain…but (fingers crossed) I have hope that spring will be here soon! Ironically enough I think we had pretty good weather in Fargo until the first official day of spring. But anyway I’m sure that nice weather and lots of sunshine will appear here soon…and I can start to wear dresses and skirts again. Yay!
