Holy cow, it’s already almost the middle of May. How did this happen?! Last week we had weather in the 80s and it was beautiful and sunny. This week it’s been chilly and raining like crazy. Yay weather in the midwest! Since it’s been so dreary lately, I figured it was time to focus on something positive: my favorite products from the last month! These are some of my favorite posts to write (and read from others!) because you go in-depth about why you love something, and it’s so fun to gush about beauty. So let’s get started!
Colour Pop Lippie Stix: Heart On
First of all, Colour Pop is amazing. If you haven’t heard from them, you need to check them out right now. Most of their products are $5 each, except their face products, which are $8 each. The quality of their products is seriously amazing; I just can’t emphasize that enough. Anyway, I’ve really been loving this particular lip product this month because it’s so fun and unique and summery! I’ve been on a matte kick lately, and I love how this doesn’t immediately dry my lips out or anything. These lippie stix are crazy pigmented and super smooth when applying to your lips. They have an insane assortment of colors and finishes, so go check them out!
Bite Beauty Fruit Scrub: Whipped Cherry
I picked this up from Sephora during the VIB sale, and I’m so glad I did! I’m usually not a big fan of cherry-scented things (or cherries, for that matter), but this stuff smells so good. I’ve been using it at night, and I think it makes a difference in the look and feel of my lips. It’s a scrub, but it doesn’t have rough exfoliating beads in it; it just feels like you’re putting lip balm on, really. Then I follow it up with lip calm before going to bed, just for added moisture. I love any and everything from Bite Beauty, and this scrub is certainly no exception.
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
This mascara from Benefit was all the rage when it first came out a few months ago, so I had to buy it and try it out (obvi). While I don’t consider it a holy grail product for me, I do really like it. It gives my lashes great length, curl and definition that really does last all day without clumping or needing to use an eyelash curler first. I’d been using a few other mascaras here and there over the past month, and I just started reusing this a week or two again and realized how much I really liked it. Plus the packaging is just adorable, so, you know, what more could you want?
Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Highlighter: Stole the Show
I got this mini size about a month ago when Colour Pop was first teasing the arrival of their highlighters. It’s one I probably wouldn’t have picked out myself, but I’m so glad I have it! It gives your cheeks just the most beautiful glow, and it makes your cheekbones and face just look amazing. I apply it with my fingertips, and it blends into your skin seamlessly. It’s just a beautiful silver/champagne color with a pink duochrome!
Morphe Brushes Gel Liner: Flex
I’m usually not a big fan of gel liners, as I can never seem to get a straight, evenly distributed line, but this liner made me fall in love. When I ordered online, the black liner was sold out so I figured I’d give this dark blue one a try for a fun pop of color. And I absolutely love it! This is the creamiest formula I’ve ever used before, and the color is just beautiful. I don’t have the steadiest hand, but it was still pretty easy for me to get a clear crisp line with this. I’ll definitely look into getting a few of the other colors from this line because this has become my new favorite eyeliner!
Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette
First of all, Jaclyn Hill is queen. Secondly, Morphe Brushes is amazing. Unfortunately this palette was limited edition, so you can’t buy it anymore, but it’s just so amazing that I couldn’t not talk about it. I was stalking the Morphe website until it became available again after selling out basically immediately back in January, and I was so pumped that I got it this time around. It was around $27 I believe, which works out to about $1 per shadow. Crazy! This is the first time I’ve tried anything from Morphe (I bought the gel liner after I had gotten this palette in the mail), and I have to say that I am SUPER impressed! The pigmentation is insane, the formula is very soft and creamy, and the colors are very blendable on the lid. I know their single shadows are $2 each (which is INSANE), and they sell a bunch of other palettes at cheap prices as well, so, I mean, you just really can’t beat the price. And the quality is much better than I was expecting for such a low price. Seriously!
Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows: In the Spotlight and Flame Thrower
I’ve been following Marlena and Makeup Geek for just over a year now I believe, and it’s been so fun to see how the company has grown like crazy! One of Makeup Geek’s newest releases are their foiled eyeshadows, which are the creamiest, most pigmented shadows I’ve come across in a very long time. You’re not supposed to have to use an eye primer first to get these shadows to last, but I always use one just out of habit I think. These colors are beautiful on their own, but they look even more beautiful when used together. In the Spotlight is a beautiful pinky champagne color, and Flame Thrower is a very unique bronze color. I’d highly recommend checking out both Makeup Geek and these foiled shadows if you haven’t already. I’ve been working on a new look using these and a few other shadows from Makeup Geek, so stay tuned for that soon!
