Are you afraid of the dark?
It’s okay if you are.
Some people are also afraid of snakes, clowns, holes, spiders or even love. Others are afraid of failure, loneliness, rejection or even love.
All of those are completely justified.
Fear can actually be helpful. Fear can push, challenge or even excite you at times. You can make the choice, even if it doesn’t feel like it, to run away or face the so-called impending danger.
Some fears are easier to overcome than others. I totally understand that. But I think we all need to get better about losing our fears of intangible things that we can’t control.
So often we spend so much time worrying about things that might not ever happen that we stop potentially amazing things from ever possibly happening.
Don’t let your fear stop you from living your best life.
I spent so much time and so many years being afraid of being seen, standing out, being known for something. But I can’t live my life while being afraid of myself. And neither can you.
Do something today that scares you. One of the biggest, most nerve-wracking things for me was writing down my dreams. Write down your dreams. You don’t have to tell or show anyone else if you don’t want to. Write it down, look at your words and think about how seeing it makes you feel.
How would you feel if you accomplished it? Is your fear bigger or smaller than your excitement? Tip the scales in your favor and take a chance.
What would you do if you weren’t afraid anymore?
