Hello everyone! Today’s post is about my August Empties, and I used up a good number of stuff this month, so let’s get started!
Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in the shade Translucent
I technically have a little bit left of this, but it’s getting pretty far down there so I figured it would be good to include. Overall I liked this powder and it did keep my face matte for a few hours during the day. I noticed that my face would start to get a bit shiny again by late afternoon, though, which isn’t a total deal-breaker but just something I noticed. If or when I repurchase this in the future, I think I’ll go for the next darkest shade and see if that works better for me.
Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes
I love these! They are so refreshing to use, especially after a long day. They have an aroma of cucumber that is very pleasant and not at all overwhelming. And they do a pretty good job of removing most of my face and eye makeup, but I do typically follow up with a facial cleanser as well. I’ve already repurchased this!
Equate Beauty Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
I grabbed these from the travel size section at Walmart, but I have to admit that I’m not impressed, especially when compared to the Yes to Cucumbers ones. These seemed pretty heavily perfumed, and they stung a bit around my eye area. I really wasn’t a fan of these, honestly.
Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Pressed Powder
This is just a small sample size I got from Sephora and finished a few months ago, and I just found it again haha. This white finishing powder felt very finely milled and it did a really good job of mattifying my skin and setting my makeup. Bottom line: I liked it but I didn’t love it, and there are a lot of good drugstore finishing powders out there that probably work the same or better.
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deeeeeep Treatment
I loved this hair mask! Plus I believe it was only $3, maybe less, which makes it even better. I used this in my hair about once a week, and I could definitely tell a difference in the overall appearance, softness and shininess of my hair after I used it. I got another hair mask to try now, but I’d definitely repurchase this in the future.
Secret Scent Expressions So Very Summerberry Clear Gel
I never used to like the clear gel formula of deodorants, but I really liked this one. It smells very fruity and summery, and it seemed to last really well throughout the day, even during really hot days. I already repurchased it!
Sephora Instant Moisturizer
I got this sample size from Sephora a few weeks ago, and I really liked it. It has a very slight perfumey smell, but it’s not overbearing at all. It takes a little while to soak into the skin, but I still liked it and I used it in the morning and at night. It made my face feel really hydrated right away, and the hydration seemed to last at least for a few hours, if not more. I’d think about buying this in the future, but I have a different moisturizer that I really like at the moment.
Olay Age Defying Eye Cream
This is the first eye cream I ever tried, and it was okay. I didn’t really have much to compare this to, but I wasn’t a big fan. Don’t get me wrong, it seemed to hydrate my under-eye area well, but that hydration didn’t seem to last. This eye cream seemed to work just fine, but it wasn’t something that seemed to last or really wowed me or anything. I probably wouldn’t repurchase it in the future.
