Hello everyone! It’s time for August Favorites! These are my favorite (pun unintended) posts to write every month, so I hope you guys enjoy reading them. I had a good mix of new favorites and others that I rediscovered, so let’s get started!
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
This was a favorite mascara of mine a few months ago, and then I sort of forgot about it for a while. I pulled it out again this month, and now I can’t stop using it. It gives my lashes great volume and length without clumping up, and it’s super black, which I really like. Just a great mascara all around!

I admit that I’ve only used this a few times, but so far I’m in love with it. Ulta recently ran a deal where you got 5X points on all it Cosmetics purchases, and I’d be eyeing this for a while, so I figured it was time to pick it up. It’s amazing! Seriously. It makes your whole face look more awake instantly, and it has a bunch of vitamins and other ingredients that are supposed to act as a treatment for your under eyes. So that’s a plus! It’s creamy and it goes on very smoothly, and it blends like a dream. Love it!
Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in the shade Glacé
I got this from Sephora online about a month ago, and I seriously can’t stop using it. I don’t normally go for darker pink shades like this, but it really caught my eye so I knew I had to give it a try. Reviews on the Sephora website said this is close to the Kylie Jenner lip look that many people are trying to pull off now, but I don’t really care about the whole Kardashian family; the color is just beautiful and the formula is amazing! This glides on your lips like butter, even if your lips are dry like mine. The color stays on for hours, and it has a bit of a staining effect. I’m just seriously in love with this, and I think it’s a great transition color from summer to fall.
Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment
I won this little deluxe sample size from a giveaway about two months ago, and I love it! It’s thicker than the Olay one I recently used up, and I feel like the hydration really lasts for a long time. I’ve noticed a big difference in how my under-eye area looks throughout the day, and my foundation and concealer seems to stick around better if I use this in the morning. I’ve really been liking this, and I’d consider purchasing the full size in the future.
eos Shave Cream in the scent Pomegranate Raspberry
I can’t remember who it was, but I saw someone on YouTube recently who was raving about this product so I knew I had to try it out. It’s a shave cream, and it doesn’t lather up like other shaving products do. The bottle says you can use this to shave wet or dry, so that’s interesting. I think that because it’s more of a lotion-type consistency, it moisturizes your legs really well and it makes them feel really soft, even days after shaving. Yeah, I don’t shave every day, whatevs. I really like this, and I can’t wait to use it some more.
Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Reconstructing Butter
This stuff. Omg. This is my new obsession. I bought this after I finished up an Aussie hair mask, and this is by far the best hair product I own or have ever used. I use it about once a week, and a little bit definitely goes a long way. The smell is typical of other Garnier Fructis products, which I like, and it moisturizes and strengthens your hair like nothing else I have ever tried. You leave it in for three to five minutes after shampooing your hair, and then you follow up with conditioner. I just seriously can’t say enough good things about this hair mask. After only using it once a week for the past three weeks, I’ve noticed my hair is shinier, stronger and just healthier. Absolutely love this!
The Super Salve Co. Body Butter in the scent Mochachino
My boyfriend picked this up for me at Swanson, a local health products store here in town, and I’ve been in love with this ever since. I put it on after a shower, and my body feels moisturized for close to 24 hours after using it. Also, it smells like coffee and chocolate, and who doesn’t love that?! I haven’t used body butters much before because I thought they would be really greasy, but that isn’t the case with this one.
The Balm Cabana Boy Shadow/Blush
I mentioned this in my favorites last month, and I still haven’t stopped using it. I’ve used it literally every single day since I bought it, and it barely looks like I’ve dipped into the product at all. This is a beautiful dark pink blush with purple undertones and a bit of a sheen to it, and it just gives your skin such a healthy glow.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer
I got this in my Ipsy bag this month, and I love it! It has a slight nude tint to it, like Benefit’s Porefessional, and it blends into your skin beautifully. I notice a very visible difference in the size and appearance of my pores right away, and it lasts all day. My pores look much smaller and less noticeable, especially when I’m wearing primer. You can also wear this without any other makeup on, and your face just looks flawless.
