Hello everyone! It’s time again for the Awesome Linkup with Anne from Love the Here and Now!
Concerts/live events
I’m pretty excited for April because next Friday I’ll be going to a Halestorm/Lita Ford/Dorothy concert with some friends, and then on April 30 my boyfriend and I are going to see the comedian David Cross. I’ve been listening to a lot of music/watching a lot of Arrested Development and standup to prepare. I’m most excited about seeing Dorothy (pictured above), one of the openers for the show. If you haven’t heard any of their music before (or if you think girls can’t rock out as hard as boys), check out this playlist I made on Spotify.
Organizing and reorganizing
Even though we’ve lived in our apartment for about a year, we’re still getting settled when it comes to hanging up art and picture frames and all that. We just renewed our lease for another year, which prompted us to re-evaluate our layout and see what we might want to revamp. It’s been so fun to move some stuff around and see things in a new light. I could just organize and reorganize all day long. Spring is in the air (finally, even though it may still snow this week), and I’m ready for a fresh start!
Inspiration
Inspiration is everywhere for me at the moment! I’ve been connecting with a lot of awesome people via blogging and other social media outlets, and I’m getting so many ideas for how to improve myself and my life and my blog and just everything. I’ve been doing a lot of spring cleaning around the apartment, and now I’m starting to apply that principle to other areas of my life as well. It’s been very refreshing and inspiring! Get ready for some awesome new changes and tweaks coming soon!
American Crime Story
I’ve read some articles where people praise the show and the acting, and I’ve read others where people tear the show to shreds. Either way, if you haven’t been watching this show, you’re seriously missing out. I was about five years old when the OJ Simpson trial happened, so I don’t really remember anything about it. Because of that, I’ve become really fascinated with the trial and the story. Each week my sister and I have been watching this, and there has been a lot of yelling and screaming and freaking out. I think the acting is phenomenal (hello, Sarah Paulson can do anything), and I’ve learned a lot from watching it. It’s crazy to me how similar the world was in 1995 to what it’s like now. We feel like we’ve made such strides, but have we, really? Anyway, the finale is tonight, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds. Obviously, we all know how the trial ends, but that’s the magic of this show: even though you know how it will end, you’re still filled with suspense.
Food-scented makeup
Seriously, what a time to be alive. Too Faced already has chocolate-scented bronzers and eye palettes, and they recently came out with a peanut butter-scented eye palette and a peach-scented eye palette. Is this real life?! Ulta sold out of both basically immediately, but hopefully they get more in soon. My boyfriend spoiled me by buying me the peanut butter palette, and it’s seriously amazing. Peanut Brittle and Peanut Butter Cup are my favorite shades, but let’s be real: I love them all because they smell like peanut butter. What else could you want?!
Melissa McCarthy
She is queen. She is bae. She is everything.
What are some awesome things in your lives right now?
