Since it’s the beginning of the month, it’s time for the Awesome Linkup with Anne! I’ve missed doing this every month, so I decided to start doing it again. It’s so fun to share the fun or awesome things going on in my life and also read about other people’s as well.
So let’s get started on what’s making my 2016 awesome so far!
Renewed sense of purpose
I love this time of year! I feel like it’s so nice to have a fresh, clean slate, and I have so many ideas and things I want to accomplish this year. I’ve already gotten started on a few of those things, and I’m just feeling really great. I’m feeling much more inspired about my blog content and this space, I’m taking more control of posting on social media, I’m reading more and I’m just feeling so happy about my life in general.
New journals
I bought two awesome journals on Amazon a few weeks ago, and I’ve been dying to use them. I cracked them both open Jan. 1, and it’s been so fun so far. One is The Happiness Journal, where you write down a sentence or two every day for five years. I thought it would be fun to have something to look back on so I can remember more of the little things that happen. The other is The 52 Lists Project. It should come as a surprise to no one who knows me that I love to make lists. For this one, the book gives you one question prompt a week to fill out and reflect on various things throughout the year. I’m really loving both of these so far!
New books
I’ve found some really great books lately that have just been killing it. Right now I’m finishing up “Fat Girl Walking” by Brittany Gibbons and “The Danish Girl” by David Ebershoff, and they’re both very good but very different. “Fat Girl Walking” is a memoir about a plus size girl, and I can honestly say I’ve never read a book like it. It’s unapologetic, hilarious and so relateable. “The Danish Girl” is a fiction story about Lili Elbe, one of the first people to undergo sex reassignment surgery. I’ve been dying to see this movie, and I knew I just had to read the book first. Once I finish these, I’m starting our next book club pick, which is “Did You Ever Have A Family” by Bill Clegg.
Awesome TV shows
Like America’s Next Top Model. Yes, apparently this show is done forever, but the old episodes live on via Hulu. Woot woot! I’ve been having a blast rewatching the first few seasons to see how much the show has changed and also make fun of all the crazy photo shoots and makeovers. #sorrynotsorry I’ve also been loving American Horror Story: Hotel, Superstore, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Jane the Virgin and a few others. Seriously, if you haven’t seen Superstore, go look it up right now. I binge watched the first four episodes in one night, and I’m dying for more episodes.
New linkup
That’s right! I finally started my own linkup here at Beyoutiful Beauty! There are so many amazing ladies and self-love bloggers out there, and this will be a space for all of us to meet up, share the love and spread positivity. Every Saturday I’ll be featuring a different awesome lady blogger. And let’s just hang out and spread the self-love! 🙂 Interested in being featured? Click here. This is a new, exciting adventure for me and this space, and I am just so pumped!
