Books
I’ve read so many great books lately, including The Danish Girl, What Comes Next and How to Enjoy It, and Where’d You Go, Bernadette. They were all vastly different books, but I loved all of them for various reasons. Right now I’m reading Barbara the Slut and Other People, and I’m loving it even though I don’t read short stories very often. Once I finish that, I’ll be reading our next book club pick, which is Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. I’ve always loved reading, but I’ve been in a big reading mood lately, and I’m glad to have really loved the last few ones I’ve read. If you haven’t checked them out yet, I’d highly recommend them.
New Makeup (Re)Discoveries
I’ve had so much fun playing around with both new makeup and other makeup I’ve had for a while but maybe forgotten about. I’m talking about my favorites in a new post soon, so I won’t go into details now, but it’s been fun to discover or rediscover products I’m really loving. Makeup is fun!
Weather
The weather here hasn’t been totally consistently awful. Success! I mean, it was snowing this morning, but it’s supposed to be in the 50s or 60s this weekend, so I’ll take it! I know, weather in the Midwest makes absolutely no sense. It was in the 50s last Saturday, and then it was 5 degrees above zero (without windchill, so it felt colder) on Monday. But this week the weather has been tolerable with only minimal snow, so, you know, #blessed.
Trivia
Trivia is so fun, you guys! Especially if you’re an adult and trivia is at a bar and you get to drink and eat bar food. #winning. A few days ago I met up with two coworkers for Friends trivia, and it was so much fun. Some questions were super easy, and some were so random and difficult. We didn’t come close to winning, as predicted, but we didn’t do too badly either. I heard there’s going to be trivia for The Office in two weeks, and anyone who knows me knows that is my all-time favorite show. A coworker and I talk about it all the time, and we’ve already started rewatching episodes, taking trivia quizzes online and studying info on the show. You can be jealous of our very exciting lives, it’s fine.
Superstore
Sadly season one is over (IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN LONGER), but it got renewed for season two, so there’s that. Superstore is the funniest show on TV recently, I swear. It won’t sound funny if I try to describe it to you now, but you need to look up the episodes on Hulu and binge-watch. You will not regret it. I’ve been telling basically everyone I know in real life about it, and not one person has told me they dislike it. Again, #winning. I try to pick a favorite character, but it’s impossible. The jokes are funny every time, the show tackles serious topics in an interesting way and it’s just amazing in basically every way. Go watch it right now. All of them. And then watch them again. I’ll wait.
