I haven’t done a review on just one product in a while, so I figured it was about time. I had a coupon for Sephora so I finally picked up the Bare Minerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara after hearing great things about it for months, and here’s a short little review with my thoughts!
I have to say that I was pretty let down by this mascara, at least so far. I had pretty high expectations after hearing such great reviews for so long, and I feel like it didn’t really do much for my lashes. It did have nice volume, and the packaging and brush are really cool, but I feel like it doesn’t do as good of a job of lengthening and volumizing as the Maybelline Rocket Volum’ Express Mascara that is less than $7 or so, and this was about $18 I believe before the coupon. The wand is a pretty good size, and the bristles around it are laid out in a pattern that circles around the brush like a coil, which is definitely unique. I think it’s supposed to help grab lashes better and pull them up, but I think it was just kind of meh.
Also, I had to apply at least two coats to really get it looking the way I’d like the lashes to look, and I can see how this mascara could start clumping. Even looking at the brush you can see clumps. Like I said, the formula was nice and very black, and it definitely did something for my lashes, but overall I was unimpressed since I have a couple drugstore mascaras that work just as well if not better than this one with just one coat.
