I don’t have all the answers. In fact, answers I once thought I knew no longer seem to apply.
I’ve had to relearn lessons several times. Even if it’s clear as day when I realize it, life goes on and lessons fade until one day I realize it again.
I used to have a lot of shame for re-realizing things. Geez, who am I if I write about meaningful breakthroughs, feel great, then start coasting through life and I forget…and then life reminds me again? Why isn’t learning something big and profound once good enough?
Because it’s not.
Maybe for you it is. Maybe once you learn a big lesson, it sticks with you forever and you never forget it.
Or maybe you’re like me. Maybe you learn something, internalize it, feel freaking jazzed about life…and then everything goes back to the way it used to be for a while.
Do not feel shame for re-realizing something, even if it was a huge breakthrough. We are all human. And wouldn’t life be pretty boring if we all learned things once and were done with them?
Instead, think about how amazing it is that you get to relearn something that can change or even alter your life…again? Some might say it’s even more powerful that way.
So if you’re going through something and have a breakthrough or learn something you then remember you already did before, embrace it. Don’t be embarrassed. Even if you told everyone you know this super cool thing before, so what?
If you forgot, chances are that other people might’ve too. Or maybe now someone you didn’t know before also needs to learn whatever you re-learned. You just never know.
Life will always pull us in several different directions. Some lessons stick. Some don’t. But as long as you keep trying I’m done way, it absolutely does not matter how many tries it takes before the lesson finally clicks.
I have re-realities the same few core lessons several times in my life, esidvislky since I startec blogging. Sometimes I’m downright surprised by reading about revelations I’ve had in the past. Forgetting something like that doesn’t make you a failure. In fact, it’s far from it.
You have the gift of further impacting your life and potentially the lives of those around you. Keep learning and re-learning as many times as necessary to help you grow.
I’ll be right here to help. Me and my imperfect self who keeps re-realizing seemingly simple things over and over again.
Bring it on.
