Hello everyone! In honor of National Lipstick Day, I thought it would be fun to do a post on my favorite lipsticks. There are so many to choose from, so I’ll just pick my favorites of the moment. To make this easier on me, and so it’s not a super long post, I’ll just stick to lipsticks that come in the typical tube packaging, not lip balms or crayons or any of that. So here we go!
Milani Color Statement Lipstick in the shade Fruit Punch
I’m not ashamed to say that one of the main reasons I love this lipstick is because it smells like watermelon. Okay, moving on. This is a beautiful, pigmented, mid-toned pink lipstick, and the formula is a bit drier than other lipsticks listed below, but I still really like it. This is the kind of color that can match pretty much any look since you can apply it lightly for a soft look or lay it on thickly for a bit more drama. It’s pretty long wearing, which means it can be a bit drying, but if you apply a lip balm or chapstick first, you should be fine.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in the shade Juicy Papaya
This isn’t technically a lipstick, but it’s in lipstick form so I decided it would count at least for this post. These Lip Butters are incredibly creamy and they feel so nice on the lips. Actually, you don’t even really feel them on your lips. These are fairly hydrating and not really drying at all. I love this color in particular because it’s pretty neutral, and it can go with anything. And it smells really good, which is another bonus. It’s not very pigmented, but that doesn’t bother me because it makes sense given its formula.
Buxom Full-Bodied Lipstick in the shade Swinger
I know I’ve mentioned this lipstick before, and I couldn’t help but mention it again because it’s just so gorgeous. This is similar to the Radiant Orchid Pantone Color of the Year, so I definitely wore it a lot this past spring, but it’s still super fun for summer. It’s very pigmented, and a little bit goes a long way. It has a bit of a drier formula, but it definitely hangs around on your lips for a long time. While I can’t pull this off every day, I do grab it from time to time for a fun look.
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in the shade Turn On
The formula of these lipsticks is so soft and creamy, and this lipstick in particular is so intensely pigmented that it’s insane. It’s a dark-tone pink shade that gives you full color with just one swipe. It’s very long wearing, so it’s a bit drying on my lips after a couple of hours, but then I just put some gloss on top and it’s good to go for another couple of hours. Since it is so intensely pigmented, I don’t wear it every day, but it’s just so beautiful that I’ve been pulling it out more now than in the past.
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in the shade Shocking Coral
Can you tell I like bright, intense lipsticks? 🙂 I’d say the formula of this lipstick is kind of in between the Revlon Lip Butter and the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick. It’s not overly creamy or drying; it’s a nice medium! I just love how bright this lipstick is, and it’s just perfect for summer. I think this is pretty wearable for a coral color since it has more pink hues than orange, so this has become my go-to lipstick for a pop of color if I’m just out running errands or something.
