Hello everyone! Today I’m linking up with my friend Amanda from Notes from a Newlywed as part of her series on Going Natural. Over the past few months, I’ve really enjoyed reading this series and learning more about natural beauty and cleaning products, food and more. What I’ve learned has been both good and bad in ways because it’s really made me question the different beauty products I’ve used. Some of the things that I’ve used religiously for years may actually not be the best products because of their ingredients, and I’ve discovered a lot of new products in this process, so it all works out. So I thought that now that the Go Natural series is coming to a close, I thought I’d reflect my favorite natural products, some of which I’ve discovered through this series, and others I’ve used for months. So let’s get started!
Tarte Maracuja c-brighter Eye Treatment
I’ve known about this eye cream for a few months now, and it’s just the best. I got this deluxe sample size in one of Tarte’s holiday sets, and I’ll be quite sad once I finish it. I think it really does help brighten my undereye area, and it’s very moisturizing. Tarte is one of the best brands out there for natural ingredients and great products, and this product is definitely a must-have.
eco tools Large Powder Brush
eco tools is another great natural brand that I really love. I buy this brand at my local Ulta, and I have to say that I’m really impressed with how these brushes hold up. I’ve only had this for maybe two or three months, but it’s been working out great for me. I use this powder brush every morning for my setting powder, and I think it does a great job because there are bristles of different sizes and it picks up just the right amount of powder.
eco tools Custom Coverage Buffing Brush
I’ve been using this brush for my foundation most mornings for the past few months, and I have to say that I really like how it applies. I don’t like the regular flat foundation brushes because I feel like they apply unevenly and with streaks. I really like this brush because all the bristles are one length, and when you use circular motions, your foundation doesn’t look streaky at all. I feel like I can apply my foundation faster when I use this versus my fingers.
Kiss My Face Moisture Shave: Cool Mint
My boyfriend works at Swanson Health Products, and he’s always bringing home interesting new products for us to try out. He brought this home probably about six months ago, and it’s a great product that we both can use! It’s a very shaving cream made for sensitive skin, and it makes my legs feel very luxurious and smooth.
beYOUtiful Lips Lip Balm: Coconut
I discovered this lip balm at Swanson a few months ago, and I just had to get it because, hello, look at teh brand name! I discovered that it was made by a girl right here in Fargo, which just makes it even better. I bought this balm in both Coconut and Lemon, and while I like both, I like the coconut scent more. It’s a very natural lip balm that deeply moisturizes my lips and leaves a nice but not overwhelming coconut scent.
Alba Botanica Natural Hawaiian Shampoo and Conditioner: Colorific Plumeria
I discovered this shampoo and conditioner thanks to Amanda, and I’ve really been loving both of these products! I absolutely love the scent, and these leave my hair feeling soft and clean. The shampoo doesn’t lather as much as other ones I’ve used in the past, but I think that’s because this doesn’t have sodium lauryl sulfate, which is a foaming agent.
Jason Moisturizing 84% Aloe Vera Pure Natural Conditioner
My boyfriend just brought this home a few weeks ago, and I really, really love it. On days that I don’t use the hair mask I mention below, I use this instead of the Alba Botanica conditioner to help my dry hair and scalp. Especially with winter, moisture is of the essence, and this gently moisturizes my hair and just makes it feel super silky.
Giovanni 2 chic Avocado & Olive Oil Ultra Moisture Deep Deep Moisture Hair Mask
I’ve talked about this mask before, and I will basically never stop talking about it. I use it once a week after shampooing in the shower, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much of a difference this makes. Every single time after I use this, my hair feels so incredibly soft, silky and healthy. I will keep buying this over and over again for sure.
Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil
I believe I’ve also talked about this before. I got this deluxe sample size in the same holiday set as the eye cream mentioned above, and I think I love this product even more than that one. I use this both morning and night as a moisturizer, although sometimes I use a regular moisturizer on top at night if my face is particularly dry. This absorbs into my skin quicker than other oils I’ve used, and the scent is nice but not overwhelming.
Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes
I know I’ve talked about these wipes before, and they’ve reached Holy Grail status for me for sure. I use these to remove my eye makeup and face makeup before washing my face and getting ready for bed every night. Not gonna lie, sometimes I just use these instead of using a normal facial cleanser at night, even though I know using these on their own isn’t the best for your skin. These have a slight cucumber scent, which I love, but it doesn’t linger on your skin, which is nice. These just feel so nice and refreshing, and I will definitely keep buying these in the future.
