It’s the most wonderful time of the month: favorites time. Let’s chat about what I’ve been loving lately, and feel free to share some of your favorites down below!
February 2016 Favorites
Fuller House
For people who know me, this should come as no surprise as the first item on my favorites list. I finished watching all of the episodes yesterday, and I was quite sad about it because I didn’t realize there were only 13 episodes. How rude! It’s so cheesy and nostalgic and fantastic and hilarious and heart-warming. I had to tell my boyfriend to have mercy as I kept choking up. Need I go on? Okay, okay, just tell me to cut it out. No, seriously. You got it, dude.
Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub: Strawberry Gum
OMG, this stuff is just the bomb. I bought this on the Beautylish site, and I’m so glad I did. It smells heavenly, it works so well and it’s safe to eat! It’s not as solid as other lip scrubs I’ve used in the past, but that’s why I like it. It looks like pink sugar granules in the packaging, and it applies so, so smoothly.
RCMA No Color Powder
I first heard about this powder from the fantastic KathleenLights, who I’m pretty obsessed with on YouTube. I watched the video she dedicated to this powder and knew I had to try it right away. I got the 3 oz size on Beautylish for $10. It looks like it’s out of stock right now, but I think they restock fairly often, so definitely check back in a week or two. Anyway, on to the reason I’m loving it: it’s perfect for “baking” your undereye concealer or any areas you want to highlight on your face. It’s so lightweight, and because it’s a no color powder, versus translucent, there’s no flashback in photos. This powder gives a very natural brightening effect on the skin, and I’ve just fallen in love with this.
Andalou Naturals DIY Booster SPF 30 Facial Serum
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I couldn’t help mentioning it again because I’m still just in love with it now as I was then. It’s super moisturizing while also being lightweight and not heavy on my skin at all. It absorbs really quickly, a little bit goes a long way and it doesn’t have an overwhelming smell.
Coast to Coast Pore Purifying Foaming Cleanser
I bought this because it got clearanced out for $2 or $3 at Ulta, so I figured if I didn’t like it, I wasn’t wasting too much money. Now I’m in love with it, and it looks like you can only buy it in Australia. OF COURSE. This doesn’t foam as much as I thought it would, but I like that. It doesn’t make my face feel tight afterwards, unlike other ones I’ve tried in the past. It just makes my face feel so fresh and so clean, and I think it has made a difference in the overall size and appearance of my pores.
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water
I was really surprised at how much I liked this. I tried the Simple Micellar Water and was pretty underwhelmed. This is much better than the Simple one, and I feel like you get a lot more product for your money. It removes the makeup on my face really nicely, but I felt like it irritated my eye area. It removed even stubborn eye makeup, but I noticed after using it on my eyes for a few days, I saw a lot of dryness and irritation. Now I just use it on my face to remove my makeup before washing with the Coast to Coast cleanser, and I don’t notice any irritation.
Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded Palette
Again, anyone who knows me at all knows I love Urban Decay and, more specifically, the Vice palettes. They’re all just my favorites! Since I own all the other ones, I knew I had to have this one. I like that this palette has a mix of new shades, shades from previous palettes and shades you can only buy as singles. I think it’s the perfect addition to any Urban Decay lover’s collection. The colors blend as beautifully as their other shadows do, and you can’t beat the price point for how many different kinds of shadows you get.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon: Pink Parfait
I used to be a big fan of the original Maybelline Color Tattoos, but I found they dried out pretty quickly. I bought this as a whim one day at Ulta, and I’m so glad I did. I started out by using this after a primer and before glitter or loose powder shadows to get them to stick and last longer. Then I randomly decided to use it after a primer and before any shadows, and I was really impressed at how it prolonged the life of my shadows and prevented creasing even more. Now I use this every time I wear eyeshadow, and I’ve been telling everyone about it. I went back to Ulta and bought three more shades, and I love those just as much as this one.
The Balm Schwing Black Liquid Eyeliner
I bought this on HauteLook for half price because I’d heard great things about it. And who doesn’t need more black eyeliner, right? This is unlike any other liquid eyeliner I’ve tried. It has a long handle, which I love, and the tip is nice and firm, which makes it easy to get a straight black line. I’ve only used it a few times, but I really love it.
Kelly Clarkson
She’s always perfection, but especially when she’s doing one of her amazing, emotional performances. Last week she performed on American Idol, and pretty much everyone in the audience choked up during it. I got the goosebumps watching it and every time I told someone about it. Whether you’ve seen it before or not, watch it above and just try not to cry. Kelly Clarkson will always be the queen of emotional performances.
