A lot of my favorites from this month are ones I’ve used as favorites before, either in January or in my 2013 favorites posts, but that just proves what great products these are. What are your favorites from the last month? Have you tried any of the products below, and what did you think? Read on to see what my favorite products are from the last month or so.
2chic Avocado and Olive Oil Ultra-Moist Deep Deep Moisture Hair Mask
This stuff is magical. I use it in my hair about once a week for about ten minutes in the shower, and my hair immediately feels softer and more luxurious. Especially in the winter months, this hair mask is a lifesaver.
Cargo Let’s Meet in Paris Eyeshadow Palette
I just seemed to be grabbing this palette a lot this past month. I love how rich the colors are, and I don’t experience too much fallout if I apply with an eyeshadow brush. The palette has a wide variety of colors, so I feel like I can achieve a wide variety of looks with it as well.
Garnier Fructis Flexible Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray
I really like this hairspray because it was around $5, maybe less, and I feel like it does a really good job of controlling frizz and holding my hair in place without making it feel crunchy.
Almay Nearly Naked Loose Powder in the shade Light
I apply this powder after my foundation and concealer, and I feel it’s a perfect finishing powder. My skin feels very soft after using it, and it helps to mattify my skin. I may have to touch up later in the day occasionally, but I still think it’s a great powder.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment
This is my holy grail hair product. Oh my goodness. I apply a dime-sized amount to my hair after I towel dry my hair a bit, and it works wonders. It makes my hair feel soft, and when I let it air dry, it barely has any frizz at all. Seeing as I normally have such thick, frizzy hair, that’s a big deal.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in the shade YDK
This is an old favorite, but one I just keep gravitating toward it, especially if I’m looking to keep it simple. I bought this as a single shadow when Urban Decay was modifying their formula or packaging, so I got it on clearance. I believe it’s also in the Naked 2 palette as well. It’s a beautiful gold, taupey color with shine but no glitter.
NYX Powder Blush in the shade Bourgeois Pig
This has quickly become my new favorite blush. I love that it’s a matte color, and it can achieve different looks depending on how you apply it. I think it looks very natural, and it pairs nicely with my bronzer to make my face look great.
J’Adore by Dior Fragrance
This is also an old favorite, and I’ve recently rediscovered a deluxe sample I had and I’m so glad I did. It has a deeper scent than the perfumes I typically like, but that’s why I like it. It makes me feel more sophisticated for some reason when I wear it, so I really enjoy it more for special occasions rather than every day.
Buxom Amplified Lash Mascara in the shade Loud Black
So I bought this mascara a while ago and completely forgot about it until earlier this week. Then I immediately fell in love with this product all over again. I love this mascara because it’s like two wands in one. The one on the left is the brush at its full size, and then if you twist on the cap, the brush shortens to the size in the photo on the right. The longer brush helps with length, and the shorter brush helps with curl and volume. The mascara is very black, and it makes such a big difference on my lashes. Love it!
Pushing Daisies
I know it’s not beauty related, but I recently rediscovered the show Pushing Daisies. I had forgotten how much I loved it. It’s such a cute, quirky show that’s very different from other shows currently on TV. Sadly it was cancelled after only two short seasons, but I still think it’s worth watching the seasons that did air. It’s about a pie maker named Ned who can touch dead things and bring them back to life, but if he touches that thing again, it dies forever. If something he brings back to life is still alive after a minute, something else in the proximity must die. It’s a somewhat complicated concept, but it’s executed beautifully though various story lines each episode. I just think this show is such a hidden gem.
