I recently saw a post from Brittany at Beauty Deputy featuring a book tag, and I love reading so I thought I’d give it a shot! Even though this is a beauty blog, reading is a big part of my life as well. So here we go!
Inside flap/back of the book summaries: Too much information or not enough?
Depends! Haha. I’d rather have too much information than not enough because I can always choose to stop reading if I want the plot to be more of a surprise.
New book: What form do you want it in? Be honest: audio book, e-book, paperback or hardcover?
If I had my way, I’d have every book as a hardcover. I have a Kindle, and it works great for traveling and for bringing to work and such, but there’s just something about holding a physical book that I just love.
Scribble while you read? Do you like to write in your books, taking notes, making comments, or do you keep your books clean?
I keep them clean! I can’t stand notes in books unless it’s a textbook.
In your best voice, read for us your favorite first sentence from a book.
Since I am typing this you can’t hear my voice. This is a hard question! I am going to just type the first sentence from one of my favorite books. “My God, Mae thought; it’s heaven.”
Does it matter to you whether the author is male or female when you’re deciding on a book? What if you’re unsure of the author’s gender?
The gender of the author doesn’t matter to me, no.
Ever read ahead? Or have you read the last page before you got there?
I remember that I used to do this a lot in middle school and high school for some reason, but I never do it any more. I’d rather be surprised!
Organised bookshelves or outrageous bookshelves?
A little bit of both. In our old apartment, we had the books organized alphabetically by size, since the shelves on our bookshelves were of different sizes, but now that we’ve moved to our new place, we just have them organized by size but not by author name or anything. Not all of our bookshelves (we have about four) are in the same room now, so we decided not to alphabetize them.
Under oath: Have you ever bought a book based on the cover alone?
Oh yes! I can’t remember one off the top of my head, but I know i have before.
Take it outside to read or stay in?
I definitely prefer to read outside, likely in the shade in a comfy chair or swing in the summer. Obviously that’s not possible for most of the other months, so I take advantage of it when I can!
Now I tag all of you! Comment or link your responses so I can read them next 🙂
