I love talking about my favorites, so let’s just dive right in to what I’ve been loving lately!
Danessa Myricks Twin Flames Liquid Eyeshadow in Soulmate
When I say I’m obsessed, you have no idea. I’ve been wanting these for a while, and I finally bought two of them and I’m in LOVE. They’re duochromes, so pictures definitely don’t show their full, true beauty, but I had to include them because they’re gorgeous and beautiful and it still looked the exact same on my eye over nine hours after applying. MAGIC!
Essence Lash Princess Waterproof Mascara
This has been one of my favorites for years, but I’ve rekindled my love for it again lately. I wore this to work one day when I had to help take out garbage and recycling and it was like -40 degrees with windchill. When I got back inside, my lashes and brow hairs froze, but my mascara didn’t transfer at all. If that’s not a real-life testimony for this mascara, I’m not sure what is.
Sephora Big By Definition Mascara
This new mascara is only $12, and I’m obsessed with it. I hate clumpy lashes, and this gives such great volume AND definition that it’s bananas. Your lashes feel so soft and fluffy, and I just love it. It’s not waterproof, so it can transfer a bit if you’re outside in freezing temperatures, but like besides that, it’s perfection.
Makeup by Mario Moisture Glow Plumping Lip Serum in Plum Glow
These have been sold out online and they were sold out at my local Sephora, but I snagged one when we got some in our weekly shipment last week. This color is absolutely beautiful, and the formula is just everything. It’s plumping without tingling, and it has glitter but it’s very subtle, and it’s moisturizing without being heavy or too light. It’s just perfection, and I love it. If you can get your hands on one of these, do it!
Biossance Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum
This serum has single-handedly changed my skin over the past few weeks, I swear. I use it morning and night after I cleanse and tone my skin, and my face feels so soft and smooth and hydrated and plump. Plus, the serum is blue, which is just fun to apply. It’s pricey but man it’s good! Can’t recommend it enough, and it’s definitely one of my biggest skincare favorites lately.
Caudalie Instant Detox Mask
This is another product that’s been selling out a lot, and now I know why. I got it a few months ago, and I’ve been using it about once a week since then when my skin needs a little boost and I just love it. I’ve tried so many different face masks over the years, but this is definitely one of my favorites because you only leave it on for about 10 minutes and you notice results right away. Love!
K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask
What a name, am I right? But MAN this stuff rocks. This is the only thing I’ve added/changed in my hair routine in the past few months, and the last time I got my hair done, my stylist asked what I’ve been using because my hair was so soft and smooth and it had already grown quite a bit from when I got it cut last time. I’m so OBSESSED with this leave-in mask, I can’t even. In the shower, only shampoo, don’t condition your hair. When you get out, comb through your hair, apply a pump (I have really thick hair so I use two pumps) and disperse through your hair. Let it sit four minutes and then style as usual, whether that’s air-drying or heat styling or whatever. I almost always let my hair air dry, and it doesn’t get frizzy AT ALL when I use this. I have a lot of thick hair, and it loves to get frizzy, so this is an anomaly for me, really. This had to be in my favorites!
Armani My Way Eau de Parfum
I haven’t bought a new perfume I’ve really loved in years, and now I’m proud to say this is the one. It’s mainly a floral scent, but it doesn’t have the musk that many floral fragrances have. The key notes are orange blossom, tuberose and vanilla, and I just can’t get enough. It’s me in a fragrance, and I love it.
Book: All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata
I can thank BookTok for this recommendation, so I had to include it on my favorites! I read this in a few days, and it was a pretty quick read. It’s part spicy romance book, but it also had plot and character development to go along with it, so I loved it. I didn’t know much about it before I started reading it, but I got really absorbed by the main character especially, and I really enjoyed the ups and downs of the story.
Music: Mamma Mia soundtrack
I can’t explain it, but for some reason, I keep listening to this CD on loop in my car lately. ABBA just had so many jams, and these are some of my faves. There are ballads and dancing songs and a lot of sass, and I just can’t get enough. No matter what my mood is, this soundtrack just slaps (is that what the kids are saying these days?). Soundtracks always hold a special part of my heart, and this will forever be one of my favorites.
Podcast: Maintenance Phase
I’d been meaning to listen to this podcast forever, but I finally did a few weeks ago and omg why did I wait so long?! Hosts Aubrey Gordon and Michael Hobbes debunk the junk science behind health scams, fads and more, and it’s just so well-done and interesting and sad and refreshing and thought-provoking. Can’t recommend it enough, especially if you’re sick of hearing all the diet talk that inevitably surfaces in January (but also all-year round because obviously).
Movie: Free Guy
I got this from Redbox last week, and omg it was so good! It’s such an interesting concept for a movie, and I loved how it all played out and the acting was just stellar. I mean, can Ryan Reynolds ever do anything wrong?! I highly recommend this funny but also emotional movie. So good!
Show: Big Mouth
I know I’m super late to this train, but man I love this show. It’s absolutely bonkers and inappropriate and funny and dumb and so many other things all at once. If you haven’t seen it yet, do it, but just know that you might be shocked and offended at times because it deals with middle schoolers going through puberty in a very unique and overtly sexual way, and it’s also sneaky emotional, so you’ve been warned.
