I first subscribed to Ipsy a few months ago, and I switched over from Birchbox. I just felt like I wasn’t getting the kinds of products I liked enough, and I didn’t feel like I was getting $10 worth each month. I absolutely love my Ipsy subscription, which is also $10 a month. I thought I would share with you the products I received this month, and perhaps in a few weeks I’ll do a first impressions/review on each to let you know if I think they’re worthwhile or not.
First of all, I love the packaging that arrives in my mailbox each month. Gotta love pink!
I love that youget a little makeup bag each month, and I liked this month’s a lot. It’s a dark blue with light blue outlines of different skincare products, which I think is really cute. I’m not sure why the image is rotated on here, so I apologize for that.
The first product I saw in the bag was the Apothederm Bright Skin Serum. I’ve only used it once since I opened it, and I think it’s an alright product so far. You really have to pump down over and over again to get any product to come out, but I liked how it felt once it was on my face. Reviews on the Ipsy site seem very positive, so I’ll try it again and see if it works for me.
I love this stuff! I’m already a convert over my regular chapstick. I love this MALIN+GOETZ Mojito Lip Balm. Once you twist off the cap, you only need to squeeze the tube very lightly to get the product to come out, and a little goes a long way on your lips. It makes my lips feel hydrated and not sticky, despite its lip-glossy texture. I would highly recommend this to anyone suffering from chapped lips this winter or really any time.
I haven’t tried this product yet, but I’m excited to check it out. These are the willa naturals on the go lavender face towelettes. Typically I don’t gravitate toward makeup wipes, since I feel they don’t do a good job of removing all my makeup or really cleansing my face, but I can see how these would be useful when traveling or if you just need a quick touch up.
This is the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner, and I love it. I’ve always wanted to try products from this brand, and I was very happy with the size of the product, as it’s 1.7 oz, which is more than your typical sample. I spritz this in my hair after showing and then comb it through before styling. I really like the scent, and since it’s winter, I love that it makes my hair feel moisturized. I’m looking forward to trying other products from this line in the future.
This is the Elizabeth Moss Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencil in the shade Pearl. I thought the color looked beautiful, and I was excited to try it as a highlighter on my face, but I found it was too glittery to be anywhere than on my eyes. The color is very pretty, and it seems to make your eyes appear more open and energized. I wish it had a little less glitter in it, but I still really like it.
Well there you have it! I look forward to trying each of these products more in the coming weeks, and I’ll be sure to do an updated review in the future. What did you get in your bags this month? Any products in particular that you loved or hated?
