Hello, beauties!
Today I decided it was time to do another empties post. I’m trying to use up as many products as I can before we move in a month, and I think I’ve been doing pretty well so far. There are quite a few products for me to talk about, so sit back, get comfortable and let’s get started!
Here’s everything I used up!
Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Deep Cleansing Hand Soap
I got this in a swap a few months ago, and I was so sad when it ran out. I love vanilla-scented anything, and this soap was just so good. I’d definitely think about buying this in the future when holiday scents come out again.
Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray
I got this in an Ipsy bag a few months ago, and I was super impressed with it! My hair got perfect little beach waves that looked natural whenever I sprayed this after a shower. For being a small size, it lasted me quite a while, granted I didn’t use it after every single shower. If you’re looking for something to give you nice, natural waves, I think this works wonders. After a shower I would spritz this all over my hair and then scrunch a bit with my fingers and then let it air dry. Love this!
Secret Clear Gel Antiperspirant/Deodorant in the scent Hawaii Citrus Breeze
I got this for free at Target a few months ago because of a sale, and I really liked how it smelled. I prefer the gel deodorant over solid, and anyone who knows me know how much I love fruity or floraly scents, so this was perfect for me. I’d definitely rebuy it in the future!
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Night Cream
I got this from Sephora online probably like a year ago and completely forgot about it. It had a nice, light scent, and it felt really nice and absorbed quickly into my skin. I’m not really looking for a new moisturizer or night cream, so I probably won’t buy this, but it was nice while it lasted.
Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil
Since I only got a few uses out of this, I’m not sure about the lasting effects, but it was a nice oil to use on my face at night. I know Ole Henriksen products are pretty spendy, so I probably won’t buy this in the near future, but I’ve heard good things about his line in general so I’m sure it’s all pretty good.
Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask
This was really nice! I actually liked this more than I thought I would. I agree with the claim on the packaging that said it immediately reveals softer, firmer skin. This made my face feel so soft and nice and refreshed, and I just loved this! I love trying any and all face masks, and this one was very, very good.
Nivea Cocoa Butter Body Lotion
This smelled wonderful, and I think it did a great job of moisturizing my skin. I used it on my arms and legs after a shower one day, and I really liked it. I think this would be a great lotion especially for winter, when my skin is just dry all the darn time. And like I said, it smelled wonderful, so that’s an added bonus as well.
Revlon Bold Lacquer by Grow Luscious Mascara in the shade Black
This got clumpy and bad fast. I bought this probably like six months ago and only used it a handful of times because I just wasn’t very impressed by it. I felt like it didn’t really do anything for my lashes besides clump them together like spider lashes. I tried this a few times to give it more chances, but it just wasn’t the mascara for me.
Jesse’s Girl Liquid Eyeliner in the shade Black
I got this in an Ipsy bag last year, and I was quite sad when this dried up. I could probably get a few more uses out of this, but I have other eyeliners to use so I’ll just part with this one now. This one was amazing: it’s very black and it stayed put all day. Love this!
Blissoma Peace Evening Calming Creme
I got this in a Petit Vour box two months ago, and I absolutely loved it. The creme has a green tint to it, and I think it worked really well to cancel out any redness on my skin and calm down my face at night. I really liked this, and the small size lasted me longer than I thought even though I used it every night.
GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment
This is another little sample that I got from Sephora a long time ago and then forgot about. This was amazing! I tried to make it last because I know the full size is super expensive, but I couldn’t help it and I used it up in less than a month. This hydrated my face so incredibly well, and it just made my skin feel so soft and smooth. With the hefty price tag I’m not sure I could bring myself to buy this, but maybe I’ll pick it up again if there’s a sale sometime.
GlamGlow PowerMud Dual Cleansing Treatment
Again, ditto on the forgotten Sephora sample. This was really nice, and it was different than your typical mask because it also doubled as a cleanser when you were washing it off. I felt like my face got really clean, soft and smooth, and I liked this. I liked the other GlamGlow mask a little more, because I felt it was more hydrating, but this one was still really nice.
Origins A Perfect World SPF 25 Age-defense Moisturizer with White Tea
And, you guessed it, ditto on the forgotten Sephora sample. This smelled really nice and light, and I thought it did a good job of moisturizing my face throughout the day. I needed a little heavier moisturizer on really cold days in winter, but I liked that this had SPF in it. This is a nice, basic, grab and go moisturizer, and I really liked it. This sample size lasted me quite a while, too, because a little bit goes a long way.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in the shade Trooper
This was a sample from Sephora that I actually finished up a few months ago, thought I lost it, and then I found it and added it to my empties tote so I’d remember to finally talk about this. Felt tip liners are my favorite because I feel like I can get a really precise line and I like how dark black they are as well. This worked really, really well and it was very easy to use for a simple thin line or something more dramatic. This liner is awesome, and if you haven’t tried it yet, I’d highly recommend it.
Yes to Cucumbers Soother Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes
I’ve talked about these before, so it’s no surprise that I rebought these. Again. I love these wipes. I think they smell nice and light, they remove my makeup really well, and I’m not sure what else there is to say about them. Try them now if you haven’t!
Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Makeup Remover Pads
Since I love the Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes, I thought I would really love these. But I was wrong. Basically, these are terrible. I feel like the pads were soaked in remover, and it stung my eyes sometimes, especially because I felt like I really had to scrub to remove my eye makeup. I couldn’t wait to use these up because they were just terrible. I had to use at least two per eye at night, even if I was just wearing eyeliner and mascara, and they had an almost oily feel to them because it would spread the eyeliner and mascara towards my hairline if I wasn’t careful. Did not like these at all!
Olay Fresh Effects Everything Off! Deluxe Make-up Removal Wet Cloths
I’ve talked about these before, so I knew I would really like these again. I liked the nice fresh scent, and I feel like these remove my makeup just a little bit better than the Yes to Cucumbers wipes. These didn’t completely remove all my makeup, but it was a good first step in my night time skincare routine.
Alba Botanica Good & Clean Fruit Acid Detox Fusion Dual Textured Exfoliating Towelettes
I really liked these at first, but the packaging was unfortunate because once you peel up the sticker to get the wipes out, it wouldn’t stick down again. So many of the wipes dried out and didn’t work well once I got toward the bottom of the packaging. So that alone would make me not want to buy these again, but I also just didn’t like the wipes themselves. They were double sided: one side was rougher and was meant to exfoliate your skin, and then the other side was smooth like a normal facial wipe. I felt like the exfoliating side was too rough for my skin, especially to use every night, which is what I normally do with facial wipes. And even though I used both sides of the wipe, it didn’t remove all my face makeup. I like other products from Alba Botanica, but this was just a big flop to me.
What products did you guys use up this month?
Also, it would be amazing if you’d fill out this super quick blog survey for me. Thank you!
