Happy June, everyone! I know I say it every time, and it’s super cliche, but I can’t believe it’s a new month already. June is packed with birthdays and events, so I’m sure it’ll fly by even faster than May did. I didn’t try a ton of new products last month, but I did find some new holy grail products. So let’s just dive right into my monthly favorites!
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick: Manic
I bought this when the Urban Decay lipsticks were $11 a piece at Ulta, and I’m so glad I did. This is the perfect yet so unique red color. I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear it, and I love the formula. It glides on the lips so smoothly, and it’s just such a flattering lip color. This has become my go-to color for whenever I work at Ulta, and people always ask me about it. If you can still get this on sale, go for it!
Pacifica Kale Detox Deep Cleaning Face Wash
As I’ve mentioned before, I like using more natural products whenever I can. So I got super excited when I saw that Ulta would start carrying Pacifica products. I’m not a big fan of kale, so I was nervous to try this face wash, but I absolutely love it. It has a thicker, almost gel-like consistency, and even though it deep cleans your skin, I’ve been using it day and night with no problems, irritations or sensitivity. Pacifica also carries a face wash for normal skin and one for sensitive skin, I believe, so I like that their cleansers are not one size fits all. This doesn’t have an overwhelming scent, it lathers up but not too much and it makes my face feel clean but not tight or uncomfortable. I love this stuff! My pores have definitely become less noticeable the more I use this, too, so that’s an added bonus for sure.
Redken Beach Envy Volume Wave Aid
I got this sample size from Ulta, and I was seriously so surprised when I fell in love with it. I like to shower at night, apply a frizz/smoothing cream and some kind of curl or wave product so my hair looks tousled but still styled a bit when I wake up in the morning. I spritzed this is my hair about four or five times, scrunched my hair and was so, so happy with the results. I think this is the first spray product I’ve used that’s gotten actual curls out of my hair from just scrunching. I love the wavy look, and I would’ve been totally fine with that, but I was pleasantly surprised with the nice, touchable curls this gave me. When I woke up in the morning, my hair had a mix of curls and waves, and it didn’t feel crunchy or look greasy. I love this stuff!
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Powder
I’ve mentioned this powder before, but I forgot how much I loved it. I usually keep this in my purse for touch-ups throughout the day if I need it, but over the weekend I used it all over my whole face in place of foundation. This is yet another product I was pleasantly surprised by. It kept my face looking matte but not flat or cakey, and the powder is just so smooth so it applied so easily. The sticker with the shade number came off, but I’m pretty sure this is the lightest shade in the line (#palegirlprobs).
Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer
I got this deluxe sample size at work, and I am in love with it. Perricone MD is a hella expensive brand, but after trying this product, I can see why. This moisturizer is so smooth and hydrating, and it soaked into my skin really quickly. I used this day and night, and almost right away I noticed my face felt softer and looked smoother and healthier. I seriously love this stuff, but I don’t think I can justify the price for the full-size product just yet. Maybe some day…
Urban Decay Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Blush: Score
I also got this as gratis from work thanks to a friendly selling competition! I’d never tried any of the Urban Decay blushes before, but I am seriously in love with this color. My friend, the UD rep at Ulta, described this as being similar to Orgasm by Nars but better, and I can see what she means. There’s no chunky glitter or anything; this just leaves a beautiful, natural glow on your cheeks with a flush of color. It’s absolutely stunning, and I really recommend checking it out. I’ve been wearing it every day since I got it with #noragrats
Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara
This has definitely become my new favorite, holy grail mascara. ThatGirlShaeXO is my favorite YouTuber, and once I heard her talking about this, I knew I needed it. It’s super black, it doesn’t flake off, it holds curl very well and it lasts alllll day. The brush is unique because there are a lot of little firm bristles, but they’re not so firm that you feel like you’re poking yourself in the eye. What else could you want from a mascara?!
Laura Gellar Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator: Charming Park
I picked this up on a whim one day when I was looking for a new highlighter, and oh my gosh I’m so glad I did! Being a pale, pasty lady is fun and all, but it can be difficult to find a highlighter that’s light enough and pigmented enough to show up and actually look nice on my face. This highlighter is everything. On the cheeks, it comes off more of a frosty white with pink undertones, and it’s absolutely beautiful. You can wear just a light amount for more of a natural glow or sheen, or you can really layer on the color for a more dramatic look. I’m beyond obsessed with this highlighter.
