Since 2015 has been and will continue to be a pretty busy year for me (and since it’s such a Monday today), I decided to reflect on all the things (real and in a dream) that have defined this year so far.
This is a (staged) photo from one of my sister’s grad party. It just about sums everything up. Yay getting older!
— My boyfriend and I moved to a new apartment. Yay! We’re so close to finally being settled, and it’s just such a nice feeling. It’s nice to want to be home because you like your surroundings, and it’s nice to not have to worry about people coming over because we have more space now. Have I mentioned how much I love our new place yet? Yes? My bad.
— My sister graduated from high school. This isn’t possible, right? She’s still seven years old, watching That’s So Raven on the couch, right? RIGHT? Side note: my sister actually got banned from watching That’s So Raven when she was younger because it made her too sassy. She would walk around saying “Oh snap!” basically all day erry day. True story.
— I saw Pitch Perfect 2 three times. Yes, I’m deciding to view that as an accomplishment. I won’t tell you how short of a time span it was in between those three trips, though. (It was eight. Eight days. I saw Pitch Perfect 2 three times in eight days.)
— I bought a car this past weekend. Whoops. You know how that goes, right? You decide to go browsing and come home with a car. You know, just a typical Saturday. But really, my old car was a piece of crap, and I was long overdue to get a new (well, new to me) car. Goodbye, purple ’99 Dodge Neon. Hello, silver ’04 Chevy Impala with leather seats and an auto start!
— My boyfriend sold his truck and is looking for a new vehicle. My boyfriend has a red F150 truck (is that car speak? Did I do that right?), and it hasn’t been running so well lately. He’s on the lookout for a new vehicle, likely a hatchback (more carspeak? Is that a thing? Am I adulting right?). Let another car search begin!
— My iPhone 4s broke so I had to get a replacement phone. Which is not as easy as it sounds. After many online chats with many different agents at Verizon, I finally have a new 4s that works infinitely better than my last one. Yay! And yes, I am still content with having a 4s. I know most people have 5s or 6s, but it was free to get a new 4s, and I like free.
— I had a dream that the cast of Anchorman showed up at my house and threw me a surprise birthday party. This dream, which I clearly never wanted to wake up from, resulted in me being late to work this morning, but potato, potahtoe. It was a hilarious and awesome dream, and I’m totally counting it on this list because Anchorman. Hanging out and taking pictures with Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Steve Carell and more was a blast, even if it was just a dream (or, it could be a reality. I mean, they have nine days left, so anything is possible). Which leads me to…
— I turn 25 on June 24. I like to tease my boyfriend about being an old man, but we’re only a few weeks apart; he turned 25 last week. Last year was my golden birthday, and I don’t think we did anything very exciting, but I haven’t started dreading my birthday yet, so I guess that’s something!
It’ll be interesting to see where 2015 takes me from here, but I’m excited and looking forward to all the changes that are sure to come up real fast!
How has your year gone so far? What are you looking forward to in the next few months?
