Seriously, can someone explain to me how it’s already 2016?!
As I was thinking about the past year, it’s been really fun to reflect on my life and my blog. Here are some of the biggest highlights of my life in 2015:
— I got a new blog theme. As my blog posts have grown and changed, I thought my theme didn’t fit the message and feel I wanted for my blog anymore. I am SO in love with this current theme even a few months later, which I figure is a good sign! This was a big step for me, as I use the Genesis framework now, and I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to make changes or tweak something, so I feel like I can easily constantly make little updates.
— I got a matching tattoo with my sister. This was something my sister and I had been planning for a few years, but we had to wait until she turned 18 because my dad wouldn’t let her get a tattoo before that. We wanted to get matching tattoos to honor our two grandpas who had passed away in recent years, both of whom we were very close to. We chose a heart and a guitar pick because one of our grandpas always loved to play guitar, and the other loved to make things out of wood (both of our rooms/apartments are evidence of this) and he always put a heart on nearly everything he made. These tattoos were so special to us, and it was a great bonding experience for them to be matching and our first tattoos ever. And of course, the day we were at the tattoo shop, a local TV station was there doing a story on National Tattoo Story Day, or something like that, and my sister was interviewed.
— I started a new job. Starting a new job is full of ups and downs, but it’s always a fun challenge. While I miss my friends at my old job, we still hang out from time to time, so that helps. I’ve really honed my editing and writing skills since starting at my new job, and I’m so grateful for that. I’ve learned a lot, and I’m excited to see where it all leads from here.
— I got a new car. This was huge for me! My old purple 1999 Dodge Neon was just a piece of junk, really. It didn’t consistently start, the speedometer often didn’t work, oil was leaking, etc. It was my first car, so it’ll always have a piece of my heart, but I was so glad to get rid of that thing. My new(er) car is a silver 2004 Chevy Impala, and it’s better than that Neon in basically every way possible. I now fully appreciate the beauty of heated seats, auto start and automatic locks and windows. #adulting
— I took a lot of pictures of Bella. Honestly now, how could I not with a face like that?! I’m so proud of our little fur baby, and, as you can imagine, I basically try to work her into almost any conversation I have. #sorrynotsorry. If you want to see copious amounts of Bella, books and makeup, check out my Instagram.
Also, like I did in 2014, I compiled a list of my top 10 most popular posts of the past year. My blog has changed a lot since I started it about two years ago, and I’m sure it’ll continue to ebb and flow and transform and grow even more (And yes, I do realize how cheesy I am) in the coming weeks, months and years. It’s been so fun to be able to look back and see what I’ve done and how much I’ve changed (or not!).
So without any further ado, here are my 10 most popular blog posts from 2015:
