Tis the season for the favorites posts to end all favorites posts! I love talking about my favorite products, but I especially love it toward the end of the year so I can look back at all the great stuff I’ve used over the past few months or so.
This year I’ve seen a couple different bloggers and YouTubers sum up 2015 with their 15 favorite products, so I decided to do the same thing. I did it, but it turns out selecting only 15 products from everything you try in one year is really difficult. Who knew?!
Without any further ado, let’s get started on my top 15 favorite beauty products from 2015!
— Wella Brilliance Shampoo and Conditioner for Coarse Hair
Almost everyone I work with at Ulta raves nonstop about this shampoo and conditioner, so when the bi-annual liter sale started last week, I picked these up right away. I figured these would be good, but my goodness, they are amazing. My hair has never felt softer or looked more amazing than it did after I used these once. I’ve only used these a few times, but I can tell I’m already in love.
— Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
This became Holy Grail status for me a few months ago. Seriously, this has ruined other mascaras for me because nothing I’ve tried works as well as this, not even ones I used to love. I feel like no other mascara gives me this much length, separation and volume that lasts all day. If you haven’t tried this, go pick it up right now. Seriously, I’ll wait.
— ColourPop Lippie Pencil: Brink
This also became Holy Grail status for me a few months ago, and it’s my go-to lip liner, especially for work. Colour Pop lip liners are super creamy, they sharpen really easily and they last really well, even after eating. This color in particular is really gorgeous because it’s a perfect “your lips but better” color, and it goes with so many different lipsticks. Also, don’t judge the dirty packaging. Clearly I use this all the time.
— Makeup Geek Eyeshadow: Barcelona Beach
First of all, I love basically anything from Makeup Geek. Their eyeshadows are some of my favorite ever, and this one is definitely no exception. The main reason I love this eyeshadow more than the others I have from Makeup Geek is because this one is the absolutely perfect shade for contouring. I’ve used this non-stop for about six months, and it’s just absolutely perfect. As a fair-skinned woman, it can be really hard to find a contour shade that’s not too orange or muddy. And even though this is an eyeshadow, the staying power on my face is just perfect. It actually looks a bit more gray in person than the photo shows, and gray-toned contours definitely work the best for me.
— Morphe Brushes Eyeshadow Palette: Jaclyn Hill Favorites
I know I’ve already talked about this like a million times, but I just can’t stop. It’s still one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes ever, and even though you can’t buy this particular palette anymore, you can buy the shadows individually. These colors work so well together, and you can achieve such a wide variety of looks from natural to super glam. This palette just speaks to me.
— L’Oreal 12-hr Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner
I tried this on a whim when it was on sale at Ulta over the summer, and I’ve really been pleasantly surprised by it. Unlike some other felt-tipped liners, you don’t have to shake this before using it. This is really easy to use to get a straight, dark black line, so I really like it. It’s not waterproof, so whenever my eyes water, the liner does fade a little, but it’s easy to touch up, so that doesn’t bother me. This is definitely my favorite drugstore liquid liner.
— Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes
I’ve tried so many different makeup removing wipes, and not a lot have really impressed me. Most of the ones I’ve tried have been just okay, but these ones from Aveeno have quickly become my favorite. They have a very slight scent that’s not overpowering, and they remove all of my makeup so easily, including stubborn mascara and eyeliner. I’ve repurchased these so many times, and I’ll keep doing so in the future for sure.
— Tarte Eyelash Curler
Before I bought this, I used to think eyelash curlers didn’t really do anything. Boy oh boy was I wrong. My lashes look awesome right after I use this, even before I put mascara on. And whenever I use this (which is every day now), my lashes stay curled all day until I take my makeup off at the end of the day.
— Hempz Triple Moisture White Peppermint & Vanilla Body Creme
Gah, don’t even get me started on how much I love this. It smells like peppermint and vanilla, and it moisturizes so, so well. I really wanted to buy this when it came out for the holidays last year (well, 2014), but I kept putting it off, and then when I finally wanted to buy it, it was gone. So as soon as I saw it at Ulta this year (well, 2015), I bought it right away. I’m not sure if you can still buy this online or something, but I had to include it because I love it so much.
— Sigma Blending E25 Brush
I need to give a huge shout-out to That Girl Shae XO because without her I would have never tried this brush. In some of her videos, she mentioned this brush was perfect for anyone with hooded eyes, and holy crap she was so right. The bristles are so soft but also dense, so they pack on the perfect amount of color without depositing it all over your eye like some fluffy eye brushes can do. If you have hooded eyes, you need to pick this up immediately.
— Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer: Fair Neutral
This stuff is magic, I swear. It is the most pigmented concealer I’ve ever used, and it feels so incredibly light on the face. I don’t know how Urban Decay did it, but damn. A little bit goes a very long way, and I haven’t noticed any creasing since I set it with a powder. I find myself reaching for this especially on Mondays when I seem to have eye bags for days.
— Andalou Naturals DIY Booster SPF 30 Facial Serum
I got this for free at work a few months ago (yay, work perk!), and I am seriously in love with it. It’s called a serum, but I’d say it feels more like a typical moisturizer than a thin serum. It smells a little like sunscreen, but it’s not at all overwhelming. I’ve been using this every morning and night for a few months, and I feel like my face feels softer and looks better. I like this better than the Mario Badescu night cream I bought a while ago because it’s so incredibly moisturizing without being too much on my face.
— Acure Dark Chocolate + Mint Argan Oil Lip Balm
This is the only chapstick or lip balm or anything that I’ve used that works on my dry, gross lips in winter. It smells amazing, it moisturizes right away and my lips just feel great every time I use it. Definitely Holy Grail status for me!
— Boscia Pink Peppermint Blotting Linens
Do you sense a theme with the scents I’m loving lately? Anyway, I’ve really been loving these blotting tissues because they smell great and work so well. I love that these tissues are larger than other ones I’ve tried before because then I use less at one time.
— Matrix Biolage Cooling Mint Scalp Sync Shampoo
This shampoo has made such a big difference for my scalp since I started using it a few months ago. My scalp gets really dry and itchy, and using this once a week has really helped. Since it has mint in it (again, I’m stuck on the mint fragrances apparently!), it feels really invigorating on my scalp, and I love it.
Also, I have some exciting news! As one of the many exciting changes coming to my blog this year, I decided to start a new link-up: Self-Love Saturday!
