It’s almost the end of the month, which means it’s time for a favorites post! These are seriously my favorite posts both to write and also to read from other people.
I’ve been using pretty much the same products on a daily basis for a while now, so I figured it’d be good to share what I’ve really been loving for the past month.
Prestige 100% Natural Line & Care for Sensitive Skin Black Matte Waterline Safe Eyeliner
I first heard about this liner from ThatGirlShaeXO on YouTube. I’m always trying to find a good pencil eyeliner to use in my waterline that doesn’t totally disappear by lunch time, and I think I finally found it! This is a very deep matte black, and it applies very easily onto my waterline. I’ve used this every single day since I bought it, and I’m really happy with it. I’ve found that it does fade a little bit in the outer corners of my eye, but not nearly as much or as often as other eyeliners I’ve used in the past.
Bath & Body Works Radiant Red Maple Candle
I know, I know. I can’t shut up about this candle, but it’s amazing. I got it about a month or so ago, and it’s already over half gone. That’s a record for me and candles from B&BW, so I definitely want to pick up another one before these go away for the year. Love love love!
Swanson Ultra Certified Organic Jojoba Oil and Desert Essence Certified Organic Jojoba Oil
I’ve heard about jojoba oil for years, but I hadn’t really given it a fair shot until a few weeks ago. I wrote a blog post for Swanson about the various uses for jojoba oil, and I decided to test out a few myself. I was so surprised by how quickly I noticed a difference in the overall appearance and feel of my face especially after I started using this as a makeup remover and a moisturizer. It sounds strange, but I promise it works! And I like using more natural products, so I’m glad to have incorporated this into my daily skincare routine.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
I bought this about two months ago, and I think I’ve only not used it a handful of days since then. It gives great volume and separation, and it lasts all day without losing curl. This has become a favorite, holy grail product of mine, and I will definitely keep rebuying this once I run out. I love how the brush curves, and I think that really helps the curl hold all day.
Skinny & Co. Peppermint Lip Balm
Weather has been crazy in North Dakota lately; for instance, in a few days we went from 90 degrees to 30 degrees and back again. As a result, my skin and my lips have been freaking out basically. I can’t remember the last time my lips have felt this dry, and all the lip balms I’ve been loving in the past just have not been holding up. Then one of my coworkers gave me this, and this hasn’t left my side since. it moisturizes my lips right away, and I feel like I don’t need to reapply for a few hours, which I consider a win. And the peppermint isn’t too overpowering, which I find is the case with other flavored lip balms.
Becca Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed
I love Jaclyn Hill and Becca, so it should be no surprise that I love this highlighter. It’s beautiful, and I’ve used it every day since it came out on the Sephora website. I love it because I can apply a little bit for a lighter look or really build it up for an intense highlight. I don’t have another highlight like this; it’s such a pretty champagne peach shade. I don’t have any of the other pressed highlighters from Becca, but if the quality is anything like this one, I’m sure they’re all great.
Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment with SPF 15
I mentioned this in my Fall Favorites tag post as well, but I just had to mention it again. As I mentioned, my lips have been super dry lately, and sometimes it’s nice to use a lip balm with some color so your lips don’t look dead, you know what I mean? This stuff is perfect! It looks like it would go on really dark, but you can apply just a little bit for more of a tint or you can really build it up. It adds a nice shine to the lips as well, which is nice.
Colour Pop Brink Lippie Pencil
This has become a holy grail lip liner for me, which is strange because I never used to wear lip liners, even a few months ago. This color is perfect, it goes with any lip color I wear and it lasts for hours. It’s a beautiful nude brown pink, which is unlike any other lip liner I own. This formula is so creamy and pigmented, and it’s not at all drying on the lips. And clearly you can tell I use this a lot, so I apologize for its sloppy look.
Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon Shower Gel
Part of the reason I love it is because it used to be my favorite shower gel back in the day. When I saw that B&BW was bringing some throwback fragrances back again during a sale a few months ago, I knew I had to buy this again. I only bought one, but I should’ve bought more because I know i’ll use it. It just smells so fresh and clean, and I use it all the time now.
Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favorites Eyeshadow Palette
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I just can’t get enough of this recently. The colors in this palette are just perfect for fall, and even though this palette sold out a couple of months ago, you can still buy the colors individually from the Morphe Brushes site. The colors are very pigmented, they blend beautifully and they just fit together so well. You can really make endless looks with these wonderful colors, so I’m sure I’ll continue to use this well into the winter months as well.
Jane the Virgin
I thought it would be fun to include one out-of-the-ordinary favorite each month, so this month I’m including the TV show Jane the Virgin. I was home sick one day last week, and I saw this was new on Netflix so I wanted to give it a try. I got addicted right away, and now I can’t stop watching it. It’s super complicated to try to explain the plot, but it all makes sense when you watch it. If you’ve seen it, you know what I mean. If not, go watch it on Netflix right now!
Decorative Plate from TJ Maxx
I know, I said I’d use one out-of-the-ordinary favorite a month, but I just had to include this. When I saw this while shopping with my boyfriend last week, I knew I had to have it. Sometimes I feel like it’s easier to be someone else than stay true to yourself, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important. And sometimes I feel like the most important message we can tell ourselves is just that: be you.
