Hello, lovely ladies and gents!
Welcome to Self-Love Saturday, a weekly linkup where I feature some amazing bloggers. So let’s get to it!
This week I’m so happy to introduce to you Miriam from Farm Girl Miriam!
Miriam calls herself an eternal optimist, and I think we always need more of that with how the world has been lately! I love that she says she wants to blog with intention, and that definitely comes across in all of her posts. She writes about fashion, style, farm, her life in general, yoga, self-love and self-acceptance, and so much more. I love how relateable and real her posts are, no matter the topic. Some of my other favorite posts of hers include Be Secure In Yourself and Nobody Can Use It Against You, The Voice In My Head Is An A**Hole, Who Do You Listen To? and many more. Anyway, go check her out right now on Pinterest, and let her know your saw her post here!
What’s your favorite thing to blog about?
My favourite thing to blog about is life: Figuring out your path, how to be happy, how to have the best life possible.
What does self-love mean to you?
To accept every bit of yourself and be happy with it: The rolls, cellulite, that weird cowlick that looks like a tiny bald spot when you wake up, all your scars and imperfections. They all tell the story of you, of a life well lived, of slices of cake shared with friends, the first clumsy attempts of shaving your legs, of getting older. Loving it all is the most liberating feeling in the world!
When you’re feeling down, how do you cheer yourself up?
Yoga, cuddling my dogs, watching Netflix, reading a good book. I’m an introvert, and crave time alone often, but particularly when I’m down. I rarely feel lonely when I’m by myself, and recharge beat when hanging out with myself and my animals.
Who’s been one of your biggest inspirations, and why?
Kino MacGregor, a world renowned yoga teacher. She is “my” teacher as well, even if it is only online. Yoga made me fall in love with myself, and I will be forever grateful for that precious gift. Her encouraging words, positive attitude and love for life are a huge inspiration for me every day!
What’s something you’d tell your past self if you could?
Please stop with the self-hatred. You have a beautiful, healthy body, and you will find out of how much it is capable of when you stop hating it. It will blow your mind! Also, your tummy will always be rounded, and you will meet a man who loves that about you. And just wait: Big booties will be a thing! People will get implants to get what you already have! Our time will come ☺
What’s your go-to girl power song that always pumps you up?
“Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. Also Kelly Clarkson and of course my girl Taylor Swift. I’m really into girl power lately!
What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t?
Sing karaoke. But I’m terrified to try it.
