Hello, lovely ladies and gents!
Welcome to Self-Love Saturday, a weekly linkup where I feature some amazing bloggers. So let’s get to it!
This week I’m so happy to introduce to you Michelle from Look Through My Lens!
She posts a lot about college life, self-love, self-care, mental health, being a woman, feminism, misconceptions and so much more. Her posts are super relateable, honest, funny and real. Some of my favorites are What Hermoine Taught Me About Being A Woman, Misconceptions of Body Positivity, What Not To Say To Someone With Anxiety and How To Figure Out Your Post Grad Life. I love that she has a separate blog where she talks all about fandoms and other geeky stuff. That’s so awesome! I love Funko Pop Vinyl Figures, and she recently posted a wishlist for figures she’d love to see. I would totally buy Daria and Jane!
What’s your favorite thing to blog about, and why?
I have two blogs actually. For Look Through My Lens, I blog about college, motivation, how-tos, body positivity and feminism.
My second blog, A Geek Girl’s Guide, is about anything and all things geeky, whether that’s Harry Potter or Broadway Musicals or Board Games.
What does self-love mean to you?
I believe that self-love is about accepting yourself in any state, whether physical, mental, or emotional. It is appreciating what you do have and loving the little things. It’s not letting low moments completely derail your self-esteem and your personal outlook on yourself.
When you’re feeling down, how do you cheer yourself up?
Listen to music is definitely my go-to, because I tend to not want to interact with other people, and people usually ignore you when you have headphones on. Plus, music speaks to my soul in a way, and helps me understand what I’m feeling.
Who’s been one of your biggest inspirations, and why?
What a difficult question. Who first comes to mind is Hannah Hart. She is a YouTuber who is honest and open about herself in a way that feels genuine and authentic, and is all about being optimistic, which is pretty inspiring. When I feel down, I watch her videos and it makes me feel better.
What’s something you’d tell your past self if you could?
That all of the things you worry about now will not be important when you grow up. Seriously, that boy will not matter, the opinions of people in high school won’t matter, and everything else won’t matter. Just keep working and striving for what you want and you will be fine.
What’s your go-to girl power song that always pumps you up?
Anything Beyonce.
What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t?
I want to travel more outside of the US. I really want to go to London and other major places in Europe.
Stay tuned next week for another awesome blogger. Want to be featured in a future post? Click here!
