Hello everyone! It’s time (finally) for September favorites. I used a ton of things that I absolutely loved this month, and I can’t wait to share it all with you, so let’s get started!
e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator
I bought this quite a while ago, and I know that I’ve reviewed it before, but I just rediscovered it and fell in love with it all over again. It’s a sugar exfoliator, so it tastes really sweet and it’s not too harsh on your lips, which is really nice. I use mine about once a day for about 20 seconds or so, and I notice a big difference in the look and feel of my lips right away. For some reason I’ve just always had pretty dry lips, so this has been a lifesaver for me when it comes to wearing matte lip colors especially.
eos Lip Balm in the scent Coconut Milk
This is one of the two new eos flavors/scents that just came out a month or so ago. The other one is Vanilla Mint, and that scent reminds me of the dentist, so I opted to skip out on that one. But I’m so glad that I got this one because I absolutely love it! I keep it in my purse to use throughout the day, and I make sure to apply a layer of this after I use my elf Lip Exfoliator as well. I feel like this gives me a good amount of moisture that lasts for a few hours, and it smells heavenly. What more could you ask for?!
MAC Matte Lipstick in the shade Frank-N-Furter
In all honesty, I haven’t actually used this on my lips yet. So how could it be a favorite? Well, you may or may not know this about me, but Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of my favorite movies of all time. When I heard that MAC would be releasing a collection based on the movie, I freaked out. Actually, that’s an understatement. I started telling everybody about the collection and how excited I was and what items I wanted. I’ve never ordered anything from MAC before, but I knew I could not miss this collection or I would be so mad at myself. I don’t have a MAC store near me, so I knew ordering online was my only option. Once the collection was up, most of the items I wanted sold out like right away. Besides this beautiful lipstick, which was listed as “Coming Soon” for most of the release day. After hours of refreshing the page, waiting for the lipstick to appear, I snatched it up right away and was extremely joyful for the rest of the night/week. Anyway, the packaging is fantastic, the formula is creamy and the color is gorgeous. Gah, I can’t wait to use this!
Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette
I have been using this palette every single day since I bought it about two weeks ago. I think it might be my favorite Vice palette so far (yes, I now own all three) because there’s such a variety of colors and finishes, and they’re all right up my alley. My favorite colors at the moment are Last Sin, Lucky, Sonic and Brokedown. I’ll post a tutorial soon using all those colors! They all blend beautifully, and I love the double-ended brush that came in the palette. I can’t say enough great things about this!
it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector Concentrate Cream in the shade Light
I mentioned this in my favorites last month as well, and guess what? I’m still totally in love with it. It has such a creamy consistency, and a little bit goes a long way. It blends like a dream underneath my eyes, and it stays put all day. Even if I’m not wearing a ton of makeup, I’ll still pop a little bit of this under my eyes because it makes me look more awake and alert. Love this!
BareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer for Oil Control
This was a new discovery of mine, and now I’m pretty much obsessed. A few months ago I got a part-time job at Ulta, and I’ve seriously been loving it! This is one of the perks of working there: free stuff! Anyway, I’ve tried a lot of different foundation primers, but it’s tough to find one that works really well for my oily to combination skin. So far this is one of my favorites! It has a white tint to it, but once you blend it in, it’s colorless. A little bit goes a long way with this, so I’m sure it will last me a while.
Tree Hut Moisturizing Hand Cream in the scent Coconut Lime
Oh my goodness gracious. I seriously cannot say enough great things about his hand cream. I get pretty dry hands and cuticles, and that problem is only exacerbated in the winter time. This hand cream smells amazing, and it soaks into my hands very quickly. I feel like the moisture lasts for hours, too, not just until I wash my hands or something. I will definitely be using this a lot in the future!
Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara
This is another one of those awesome Ulta steals! There was an Urban Decay event at our store last Saturday, and I had to work after the event was done and I scored this! I’ve never used this mascara before, but now I’m in love. It’s a pretty big-sized brush, but it makes it super easy to cover all of my lashes. This gives great curl, length and volume, and it’s perfect for everyday looks because it’s not too intense or crazy with volume.
CK One Mascara in the shade Black
I got this mascara back in June because it was part of Ulta’s birthday perk, and I kind of just forgot about it until recently. This is similar to a Buxom mascara I used to own, but in my opinion this is way better. The brush handle can twist to make the bristles closer together or farther apart, and I love that. In the picture above, the bristles are as far apart as they can be; this really helps to lengthen your lashes. I use this first, and then I twist the handle to make the bristles be closer together, which really helps for volume and curl. The bristles don’t stick out quite as far as they do on the Urban Decay mascara above, but it’s just as easy to use.
Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in the shade Lust for Blush
I had been dying for the Maybelline matte lipstick collection to come out, and they seemed to arrive to my town pretty late as compared to bloggers in other cities. But in any case, I finally got my hands on this beautiful mid-tone pink shade that I am currently in love with. It glides on very creamily even though it’s a matte lipstick, and the color lasts for hours. I have dry lips, but I don’t think this dries them out anymore than they are naturally. I’m really impressed with how long the color seems to stick around, so I’m glad I picked this up!
