I randomly discovered a podcast made by her and my now-other-friend Shelby, and then I won a giveaway for a session with the two of them. I’ve felt a strong bond ever since, and I’m so glad we’ve kept in touch. I know you’ll see how genuine, loving, vulnerable and amazing Christina is with her answers below. This Is Me: Christina Elena
Share a little about yourself, your background and what you’re doing now.
Hello you beauties! I am Christina Elena, a cat loving, mental health advocate, tarot expert, ancestor and angel communicator here to help individuals uncover the fog of uncertainty, transmute painful pasts and rise above to meet their highest and best version of themselves.
I 100% believe that we hold the keys to our lives within our own hands! After all, we are divine beings that are so magically connected to energy, why not use our God given gifts and blessings to lead the way to a better self, a better community and a better world.
Currently you can find me educating individuals on how to create transformational healing and self- connection through the art of tarot, and working 1:1 with individuals for tarot sessions, where I channel ancestors, angels and guides to help them connect with the depths of their soul! ← I’m all about that soul language y’all!
How did you discover your purpose, and what keeps you focused on and dedicated to it?
I spent many years in a fog of anxiety and worry in my early twenties, and right around the age of 26 I hit ROCK BOTTOM. Within a blink of an eye my anxiety got so bad that I became homebound. I was terrified to leave my house, let alone get off the couch. I woke up every day with terrifying fears that would leave me physically, emotionally, mentally exhausted. And as absolutely scary as it was, the only thing I had left in me was my connection to God and the angels. I prayed every day to find a way to better my life and within a few, short months later I was stable enough to start my healing journey that paved the way for my psychic spidey senses to unfold. I started channeling angels for massive healing and growth, connected to my ancestors that explained energy healing and completely changed the direction of my life.
Since then, I have traveled, met new people, started two successful businesses and learned that no matter what, I am always going to be supported to fight the good fight.
I often think, if I had lost my faith and was never forced to trust my intuition, I’m not sure what would’ve happened. It was at that time in my life I knew I wanted to help others find themselves and learn to live connected to their soul!
Thinking about your life now, especially with the spiritual side of things, is it what you always imagined you’d be doing? Why or why not, and what have you learned because of that?
Haha, absolutely not! When I got sick, I was a beauty educator with a leading cosmetics company with no idea what spirituality even meant, yet alone mediumship (channeling). Thankfully anxiety led me to going on leave… and the leave led me to being fired… yep, I got the boot!
And, some people would look at that as a spiral downwards, but for me?
For me it was up and up!
It’s been a life changing experience, but to hear my clients stories and how they’ve changed their life and continue doing so will NEVER get old. It’s amazing what you can do with some guidance and a whole lot of loving support, and I am thankful for the anxiety because it led me to change my life for the better. Best part, I get to help others do the same! Oh, and did I forget to mention I communicate with ancestors and angels? I’d say that’s a win, win situation! So, again, thank you anxiety for forcing me to change my ways and teach me to be the best fucking version of me I can be!
What’s something you desperately want other people to know or realize that may help them in their lives?
You are NOT your circumstance, your emotions, your mental thoughts, your clothing size or your status in life! YOU ARE UNIQUELY AND WONDERFULLY MADE FOR YOU BY AN ENERGY THAT IS THE GREATEST OF ALL!
It is so easy to get lost in the emotion and the mental chatter of what life throws at you, but the greatest part is that you get to choose how you overcome and rise above.
The mind can play little games making us feel alone, but in all truths, we are NEVER alone. In the physical world, we have friends, co-workers, mentors, etc. and with technology giving us an opportunity to make a quick call, it’s easier than ever. In the Spirit world, we have ancestors that we’ve never even met looking out for us, angels that watch over us and God always communicating with us. Not to mention, we have our Higher Selves, which we can access at any given time to help us feel supported, calm and comforted!
Talk about being made of MAGIC!
No matter what, you’re never alone!
You are beautiful.
You are amazing.
You are resilient.
And, you will ALWAYS OVERCOME!
When we encounter challenges in our lives, we can choose to run from them or to them. What have you learned from either of those ways of thinking in your own life?
Ohhh boy, give me a second to count the years that I actually did run from my problems… okay, it’ll take longer than a second because I kid you not, I did it all the way up until I had my rock bottom moment.
What it taught me was that shit will always catch up to you no matter how long you run from it. My example being a great example lol.
Look, the journey is just that… a journey. Which means you will always have a choice.
Now when that decision comes knocking for an answer, I put my hands out and say, “hey look, Christina, you have two choices. You either face the uncomfortable feelings for a brief moment and get it out of the way, or your stay uncomfortable, fearful and always wondering what could’ve happened”, and it always reminds me that taking a leap of faith is 10x better than living with regret.
And, I’ll be honest here and say that as long as you are truly listening to yourself and staying in alignment, the lessons come to you as needed. Spirit, including your Higher Self, would never want to bombard you in any way. So the skeletons that you are afraid of coming out of the closet won’t come barreling out ready to attack. In fact, it’s a layer by layer process. Trust that your Soul knows the way ahead and only wants the best for you.
And, also, I’ve learned that you don’t have to face things alone. If you’re afraid to face something scary alone, that’s okay! Embrace that, ask for help and grow through it <3
What do belonging and connection mean to you, and how do you incorporate that into your life and/or business?
I’m just going to cut to the chase here and say I am a recovering people pleaser. So, because I am now learning how to have healthy connections with others I find them exciting and absolutely necessary.
It’s great to learn how to effectively communicate with others, share vulnerabilities, build bonds that are sacred and what a blessing to know that others love and care for you. Now I make sure I take the extra steps to communicate what I need and ask others what they need from me, including in my business.
I work with very delicate topics of conversation and triggers happen on a regular basis, and one thing that has changed for me is allowing myself to become the student and allow others to teach me, which is an amazing gift to ask for. No one is better than the next and we all matter. Why not have connections that are fruitful, with depth.
How have self-care and self-love played a part in your journey so far?
In my opinion, they go hand in hand. Self-care is self-love, and it’s absolutely been a HUGE part in my journey. You know, you see a lot of bath bombs and flowers on instagram talking about doing those things to love yourself, and while I love me some of those things, they aren’t the only part of self-love that play a crucial part in the process.
To me, self-care is taking the time to release emotions, heal from traumas, identify whether your belief systems are working for you or against you and connecting with your intuition is so important in navigating your everyday life. It’s learning to say no when you don’t want to do something or are too tired. It’s saying I’m going to rest and relax. I’m going to go after my goals. I’m going to do me.
Does that always scream glitter falling from the sky or unicorns pooping rainbows… no. But it’s necessary and the growth you see every day is beautiful.
When I started diving deep into the depths of my soul, I realized that as I uncovered myself, layer by layer, I fell more in love with who I was. There were nights I cried myself to sleep, went to bed fearful AF and repeated “you’re safe” over and over again. But, I no longer looked at myself as not good enough or not worthy.
I started seeing that I really did have the power to change my life and it all started with me. My confidence rose. I was happier for longer periods of time. When I looked in the mirror, I started seeing a badass and realizing that it wasn’t fake or superficial. I actually really meant it because I felt it… and that? That to me is the many layers of self-love that comes from self-care!
Am I perfect? Hell no. I don’t want to be and I don’t think there is only one perception of what perfect means, but to me, I am perfectly imperfect and that makes me happier than ever to speak that as my truth.
Do the work! It ain’t a cake walk in the park, but it’s a damn hell of a good time when you come out of it!
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
A special thank you to Jessica, the beyoutiful badass that runs this amazing blog! You are incredible and it’s been my honor to be apart of your stardom!
