Hey guys! Welcome to the new Beyoutiful Beauty! Over the weekend I decided to go self-hosted with WordPress, and even though it was a bit of a process (because I suck at technology sometimes, not because of the process itself), I’m so happy I made the switch.
Saturday afternoon I met up with my friend Amanda from Notes from a Newlywed at Starbucks (free wi-fi. Yay!), and she really helped me work through self-hosting since she did it herself a few months ago. After working through a few glitches, I got my new site up and running! I’m still playing around with a few things, like widgets and themes, so there may be some tweaking in the near future, but I was just excited to get this all up and running and let you guys know about it.
I picked a new free theme since I just wasn’t crazy about my old theme anymore. I may go with a paid theme in the future so I can customize it more, but for now I’m really liking how this all looks. This is definitely still a work in progress, so I appreciate your patience as I work on finalizing everything. I’m trying to make my site more SEO friendly and just easier to navigate and read in general, so hopefully I’m accomplishing that (or will in the near future).
