Inspiration is everywhere if you just look for it! When I’m thinking about trying a new look or just browsing for something fun to mix it up, there are a couple places to which I turn.
Read my post linked above to see my favorite YouTube channels to follow, and there are hundreds and hundreds if not hundreds of thousands of channels and videos out there to watch for any kind of tutorial or review you’re looking for.
Pretty Little Liars
What can I say? Those girls know how to rock some awesome, crazy looks. Hannah Marin (Ashley Benson) is my favorite, and not just because she’s blonde like me. She has the best one-liners on the show, and she always looks flawless. She sports a blue or bronze smoky eye a lot of the time, which is fun to try to copy. All of the girls look so put together all the time (obviously they have hair and makeup people, but still), and it’s fun to see what makeup or hairstyles they’re rocking each week.
Mad Men
It’s no secret that the 60s makeup and hair trends are making a comeback (and maybe some never disappeared in the first place), and Mad Men is a great place to get inspiration for fun, fresh looks. Joan (Christina Hendricks) is my favorite as she always has domineering personality that really demands and respects attention (from most people anyway).
America’s Next Top Model
Yes, some of the outfits they were and looks they sport are crazy, insane and never able to be recreated in the real world, but occasionally looking at crazy photo shoots can help your mind expand your creativity and combine products you wouldn’t normally think to put together. The show also teaches you how to smize and work your angles right in mirror, so those are obviously skills transferable to any situation. And there are almost always reruns on TV or online, so watching old episodes turns into a marathon very quickly, but that’s what makes it fun!
These are just a few of the place I turn to when I’m looking for beauty inspiration. Where do you look?
